There are few repairs or modifications that can be made to a boat — wood or fiberglass — that we have not undertaken. For example:

A Duffy 35 becomes a Duffy 38
Working with the yacht's owner and a marine engineer, we added 3 feet to the stern of a fine Duffy 35 power yacht, which included extending the topsides, decks, cockpit floors, and associated lockers. In the process, added custom fabricated diesel fuel tanks and converted the exhaust system to include a hydro-lift muffler and a custom exhaust water separator. It is virtually impossible to tell that the boat did not leave the factory with her additional length. |

After many years of an undetected fresh water leak, rot had claimed several oak frames and butt blocks hidden behind the ceiling. Once the repair area was completely exposed, we decided due to limited space not to sister in the traditional manner by doubling up the oak frames. Instead we used bronze plate on either side of the new frames to secure them in place. This proved to be a very effective repair with a nice clean look as well. |
