The Luders 33 was designed by Bill Luders and built by Allied Yachts of Catskill , N.Y. Over 100 of these were built between 1966 and 1974. Typical of the era, they were ruggedly built using lots of fiberglass compared to today’s light weight cored construction. Although the structure of this boat was sound, the gelcoat had deteriorated to the point where it had to all be removed prior to painting. All of the deck hardware, windows and exterior woodwork was removed before the grinding began. Decks, cabin and cockpit were sprayed and faired with vinylester fairing compound followed by a complete Awlgrip paint job. She looks better than new!
