Mashnee a 1902 Herreshoff Buzzard’s Bay 30, which is one of five remaining, went through a complete restoration. The structural repairs to the hull include a new back bone, floors, frames; all from White Oak. The single layer of bottom planking was replaced with Douglas Fir. The double planking on the topsides was replaced with an inner layer of Cypress and an outer layer of Douglas Fir. She has been raced in various regattas on Lake Champlain and done very well. Her owner had her trucked to Maine twice and she was raced in the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and the Camden Classic Cup. Most recently she was donated to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s blue water sailing program.
