For more than 40 years, tucked along the shores of Lake Champlain, Darling’s Boatworks of Charlotte, Vermont, has quietly built a reputation for some of the finest boat work on what we fondly call “the west coast of New England.”
It didn’t happen overnight. One plank, one hull, one restoration at a time—we earned that reputation the honest way. And yes, we’re proud of it.
Now in our second generation of ownership we continue to offer the same services and level of craftsmanship. We are very fortunate to have an energetic and highly skilled crew with over 80 years of experience.
Whether your boat is wood or fiberglass, power or sail, in need of a small fix or a full restoration, we’re confident our craftsmanship—and our professionalism—will speak for itself.
But we don’t just bring skills and experience to the job. We bring curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset.
We enjoy collaborating with our customers to tackle challenges—whether it’s carving out more storage space, resolving a structural issue, upgrading hardware, improving ventilation, or tracking down a stubborn leak that’s been driving you crazy.
Our hydraulic trailer gives us the ability to transport most sail or powerboats up to 45 feet. If needed, we can bring your boat to our shop on Ferry Rd, get the work done, and return or launch it when the job is finished.
We also operate a shop right on Lake Champlain, at Point Bay Marina, giving us the flexibility to meet your boat where it is—and get started when you’re ready.
